Did you know that the commune distinction of vegetables does it come from its use in the kitchen? In fact, many of the vegetables that we believe to be vegetables and which are botanically consumed as such are fruits: tomato, pepper, pumpkin, aubergine, cucumber are some of these.
Why? Botanically, the vegetable is part of the plant, it arises from the leaves, stem or root, while the fruit is not part of the plant and arises from the flower.
